Key Qualifications:

Works in the field of soil science and agriculture (increasing fertility of sod-podzolic soils). Development of methodology of complex natural and historic zoning of USSR for agricultural use and making cards. Studying the genesis, physical, historical, and biological properties of wetland and peat bog soils and ways to increase their fertility; researching agricultural and biochemical properties of soil, soil plant nutrition.
The founder and the first chairman of the Scientific Council of the Belarusian Geographic Society (1954-1957). Promoting the expansion and popularization of geographic knowledge of BSSR, the first regional department of the Belarusian Geographic Society (in Mogilev, 1959) was founded with the direct participation of I.S. Lupinovich.
