We are glad to welcome you on the official homepage of XXX World Logging Championship!

XXX World Logging Championship will take place in Belarus on 23-27 August 2012. The most qualified loggers from 25 - 30 countries will participate in this unique professional contest.

The first World Logging Championship was held at the initiative of Hungary and Yugoslav in 1970. First championships were organized annually, since 1996 they are organized once in two years. Traditionally 100-150 loggers take part in the competition.

Official organizer of the loggers professional competition is the International Association of Logging Championships (IALC).

Belarus, represented by the Ministry of Forestry, submitted a bid for hosting the World Logging Championship in 2008. On passing through several established procedures and a number of expert assessments, made by ialc technical experts and executive board with the purpose to determine, whether the country disposes necessary facilities, acceptable for holding such large-scale event, Byelorussian bid was approved. Finally ialc administrative board took a decision to hold XXX World Logging Championship 2012 in the Republic of Belarus. Olympic sports complex Raubichy was chosen as competition site. The principal coordinator of the World Champion in Belarus is the Ministry of Forestry. The main tour operator is "CentrCurort".

The whole process of preparation and holding the World Logging Championship is carried out under the leadership of the Organizing Committee, headed by Deputy Prime-Minister of the Republic of Belarus Valery Ivanov.

Loggers contest is a spectacular performance, demonstrating virtuous skills of work with chainsaws and giving an excellent opportunity to get acquainted with logger's and timber harvester operator's job. Competitions are always accompanied by an entertainment programme for fans, who also can take part in specialized competitions, presenting a good chance to demonstrate different skills and abilities and to win prizes.

Another tradition is connected with fairs of forest products, organized near the competition site, where one can buy planting material, sawnwood, consumer goods, forest products, like honey, berries, etc.

The products of sponsoring companies are also exhibited at the championships. Traditionally, championships are sponsored by world-known companies, producing harvesting machinery and equipment. Sponsors also organize various competitions for viewers with prize awarding.
