Indonesia takes interest in Belarusian biotechnology
MINSK, 22 March (BelTA) - Indonesia is interested in scientific and technical cooperation with Belarus, BelTA learnt from Anatoly Rusetsky, the chairman of the Presidium of the National Academy of Sciences of Belarus.
A Belarusian scientific delegation has recently visited the country. During the visit the sides discussed opportunities of establishing partnership between the National Academy of Sciences and Indonesian academic institutions. The parties expressed their readiness to engage in several scientific areas. Indonesian partners showed the biggest interest in Belarusian R&D in medicine and biotechnology.
Now scientists from the two countries are planning joint projects, and preparing to sign documents on cooperation.
The National Academy of Sciences of Belarus seeks to increase the supply of goods and services to other countries, expand the export geography. This year there are plans to increase export by 30-40% from 2011 to approximately $40 million.
